Strategy and Analysis to Defend and Transform Public Education

OEA elections start this week! 4 things you can do to get out the vote and support our slate

1. Attend the Election Candidates Forum this Thursday!

CS is hosting OEA’s first Election Forum where you can ask candidates what their goals are if elected. 12 candidates have confirmed their attendance. Don’t miss this great opportunity to hear what each candidate stands for!

May 7th, 5-7:30pm – Edna Brewer Middle School
3748 13th Ave, Oakland, CA 94602

2. Vote!

OEA elections begin May 8th and will run until May 20th. Voting will be done online this year, so please make sure that OEA has your current contact information so that you receive your electronic ballot. If you received the strike authorization poll last week, you are good to go. If you didn’t or you aren’t sure, click here for more information on how to make sure you are able to vote.

3. Support your colleagues to vote as well!

Just because voting is online doesn’t mean you need to do it alone. Host a voting party in your room during lunch. Bring in a chromebook cart or teachers can bring their own laptops. This will help members remember to vote, create an opportunity to discuss the candidates, and troubleshoot anyone who is having technical difficulties.

4. Spread the word about Classroom Struggle!

We are running slate of run five candidates in the OEA election this year. Here is a short 2-minute video that explains what we stand for and why we hope you’ll vote for us! Help spread the word by forwarding the video to your networks!

Together we can build a union strong enough to defend and transform our public schools! Classroom Struggle
